Shinran and Luther

Last time, I wrote that "AI is meaningless if it doesn't have love," but then you're left thinking,

"What is love then?"

So I'd like to return to the topic of faith.

Speaking of which, I think I wrote that after I received faith from God (Buddha), I started with Buddhism. After that, I went through

Buddhism → Christianity → Islam → Ramakrishna (Hinduism?).

Now, as for Buddhism, there are many different sects, so which one should I start with?

There's no doubt about it. Shinran is the only choice.

 The reason is that

"I had too much sexual desire."

That being said, I don't think I'm abnormal. I went to an all-boys school for middle and high school, but everyone had too much sexual desire, and we would always talk about how many times we masturbated a day. I don't want to tell this to women (sorry for disillusioning them), but this is the true nature of all the boys on Earth. But you glamorize him, how stupid! I can hear some of you saying, "He's not like that!" but I'll let you say it anyway. Ignorance is bliss. So I was just an ordinary person with a lot of sexual desire.

But then,

"No marriage"

What is this? A lot of religions have this. It's obviously impossible. It was the same in Buddhism, but Shinran was the first monk to openly oppose it and openly marry.

So, for me, Shinran is the only choice. I won't waver. Or rather, I can't waver.

Come to think of it, there was a similar person in Christianity, wasn't there? Luther.

He was also a priest, but he was the first Christian to openly oppose the Catholic Church and openly marry. Just as you'd expect from a religious reformer. So, for me, in Christianity, Luther is the only choice. I won't waver, and I can't waver.

By the way, in Islam, Muhammad himself had many wives, so there was no problem from the start.

However, for me personally, one wife is enough. One wife is enough and I feel like I have too much.

But even so, is it really a coincidence that Shinran and Luther are so similar in their approaches, or rather in their ways of life, that it makes me smile. In terms of their doctrines, while Shinran's doctrine is absolute Other-power Hongan (salvation by faith), Luther's doctrine is "Salvation comes only by God's grace, not by good deeds of one's own." This is an absolute Other-power philosophy, isn't it?

They seem so similar. Is it a coincidence? I'm sure they are connected on a deep level.

Or rather, they are fundamentally the same.

I think that's all for today.

Let love and mercy guide you
