Will All People Be Saved? - Christian Edition

 Will all people be saved?

Let's ask Christianity next.

Christ came to this world to redeem mankind, so what was the point of the cross if He didn't save everyone? Also, I wonder what the point of teaching "love your enemies" was if He didn't love and save His greatest enemy, the unbelievers. What does this mean for Christian doctrine?

There were Christian clergymen like Origen who extended God's salvation to Gentiles (unbelievers). I just asked ChatGPT and they wrote that Origen taught that even demons will be saved in the end, so I guess it's similar to what I said about Iblis (the Islamic devil) being saved. But that idea seems to be considered heresy.

So I asked Augustine, the greatest Christian church father, and in his famous writings, he said something along the lines of,

"It seems that some people try to extend God's salvation to non-believers, but if they insist, I won't stop them."

This is a subtle answer. "If you insist, I won't stop you." The church felt that if they said "all people will be saved," it was too frank, like, "That's the end of it." But they couldn't completely deny it either. Shinran admitted it, and Nichiren also reluctantly admitted that "all people will be saved" in the end, but Augustine cunningly tried to escape. But I think they really knew. That all people will be saved. That's what I think. Not just in Buddhism, but in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, all the great saints have known that God, Buddha, will save all people in the end. But if they did say that, "everyone would become too relieved," which would be bad for us, so they don't say it.

So, my claim that "all people will be saved" is officially considered heresy in Christianity, but in reality, when it comes to the mysteries, I wonder what the situation is.

Ah, I forgot to ask Luther. But next I'll ask Islam.

Let love and mercy guide me
