About Reincarnation

No matter how you look at it, it's too harsh to end it by saying that the teachings of Buddhism only teach that "Buddha saves all living beings." That said, I've actually forgotten almost everything else, and it's gone to the back of my mind, but I'll try to force myself to remember.

Now that I think about it, Buddhism teaches about reincarnation. People have a past life, and our current life is a reincarnation of that past life. So, our actions in the past life determine our current life. In other words, if we do bad things in our past life, those sins will affect our current life. The reason we are unhappy now is because we did bad things in our past life. And the reason we are happy now is because of the merits we did in our past life.

Hmm. By the way, do you all remember your past lives?

You don't, do you? At least I don't, not at all.

It's kind of absurd to be accused of a crime you didn't commit. If I hurt someone in a past life and I remember it clearly, I can accept that I will be punished, but if I say I have no recollection...

That's why I don't believe in reincarnation anymore. It's not because I went from Christianity to Islam after this, and they didn't preach reincarnation in either of those places that I don't believe in it. I don't believe in reincarnation because I believe in Buddha.

Buddhism preaches reincarnation.

Yes, that's right.

And you believe in Buddha.

Yes, that's right.

And you don't believe in reincarnation.

Yes, that's right.

What do you mean?

Believing in Buddha is believing in mercy. I believe in the mercy of Buddha. And I can't believe that the merciful Buddha would not purify us, but would let us carry our sins over to this life, and would just watch without doing anything. What was Buddha doing at that time? In a previous life? There were no Buddhas or Bodhisattvas in that life? There must have been. There were billions of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. And all those billions of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were just standing there doing nothing while we died, shouldering our sins?

I can't believe it.

But even so, let's say that reincarnation does exist, since Buddhism preaches about reincarnation. And in this life, we do bad things again, shoulder our sins, and carry them over to the next life. And Buddhas and Bodhisattvas just watch in silence.

I can't believe it either.

If that's the case, I would pray,

"Please purify the sins of this life."

"Please purify the sins of not only me, but all people."

And the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas would listen to my prayers. If that's the case, there must have been a lot of people who prayed like this in previous lives. Whether it be a past life, a past past life, or a past past past life.

And since the Buddha has been around since the beginning of this world, it is impossible for him to leave us sinners alone from the beginning.

In the first place, this world was born from Mercy

It was born from the Buddha.

So, I no longer believe in reincarnation in the usual sense, and even if it did exist, I would ask the Buddha to "Please stop reincarnation," but I do believe in past lives and reincarnation in a different sense. Or rather, I wonder if past lives and reincarnation mean something like this.

I'll talk about that next time. That's all for today.

Let's follow the guidance of love and mercy.

Oh yes, I had ChatGPT make an image of Kannon Bodhisattva, which is pretty good, so please check it out. I also used it on YouTube, which is about the introduction of Buddhism, but since it's vertical, it was perfect as a mobile phone wallpaper.
