Why Evil Persists ?

Evil is destined to be destroyed, so why are criminal organizations still rampant?

It is because they are sometimes in a "collusion" with us.

The sources of funding for criminal organizations are drugs, illegal gambling, prostitution, etc., but unfortunately, there is a demand among us citizens to use these things. If you use drugs, gamble illegally, or engage in prostitution (buying sex), the customer will also be punished. The supply side is the criminal organization and the demand side is the citizen, so a complicity relationship is formed. When this happens, it becomes difficult to eradicate them.

The reason drugs, gambling, and prostitution are illegal is because they ultimately harm the citizens who use them. Take drugs, for example. By taking drugs, you can get temporary pleasure, but when the effect wears off, you will suffer greater pain than the effect you got. It's withdrawal symptoms. To avoid that pain, you then take more drugs. Then, after the effect wears off, you suffer even more pain... This is how you become addicted to drugs and eventually become an invalid.

Easy pursuit of short-term profits leads to great losses later.

This pattern has come up again. It's a common tactic of evil. First they feed you and then they cause you even more suffering later. Evil is not worth it. It's like debt. They give you money at first, so you're grateful, but later you have to pay them back with more. In the end, it's a total loss. Looking at it this way, debt is also evil. In fact, there are religions that prohibit interest.

Gambling also seems like a way to get money quickly without working, but it's designed so that the bookmaker always makes a profit. The customer ends up losing money. Looking at it this way, legal gambling such as horse racing and bicycle racing is also evil. Lotteries are also evil.

Prostitution is a way for the seller to get money quickly and for the buyer to get pleasure quickly, but it causes the breakdown of sexual morals and makes it impossible to live a healthy married life. Romantic love and marriage are impossible, and life becomes dull. There is also the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. Looking at it this way, prostitution, cabaret clubs, and pornography are also evil.

We humans are weak, so we cannot resist immediate temptations. Evil takes advantage of this. And in the end, it is we who suffer the consequences.

As we saw in the section on drug addiction, tobacco and alcohol are also evil if they cause withdrawal symptoms or harm our health. In fact, there are religions that prohibit alcohol.

However, as you may have noticed when I said that these are also evil, some evils have been legalized. It is true that stoically forbidding all of them is too ascetic.

However, although it may seem fun to some extent, the suffering that comes afterwards is greater, so it is undoubtedly wise not to do it.

In the end, the fact that evil does not disappear reflects the weakness and foolishness of each of us. I believe that all phenomena are a mirror of society, so the fact that criminal organizations continue to exist reflects the distortions of our society.

It seems that drug contamination has spread to even the elite in the United States. Is Mexico the source of the drugs? So that's why Mexican drug cartels are so powerful. Does that mean that American citizens who buy drugs are complicit with Mexican gangs? It seems that marijuana has spread to universities in Japan too. This is also complicity with the Yakuza. Finally, it seems that marijuana is legal in some countries and states. It may give us temporary pleasure, but it's legal even though even more pain awaits us later? Does that mean they want to make us miserable?
