I'm completely captivated by Love (captivated by God)
I've been serious about this in the last two posts, saying that I shouldn't be distracted by (romantic) love, but there's more to the story. I can't talk about love without writing this.
The love I'm talking about here is the love preached in Christianity,
But that's completely different from romantic love!
You're right. I thought so too. I first wrote this blog in my native Japanese, and then translated it into English using AI (Google Translate). When I read the English translations of my previous posts, I found that both the Japanese words "恋" (koi, meaning romantic love) and "愛 (ai, meaning love)" are translated as
"LOVE."
Isn't there an English equivalent to the Japanese word "恋(romantic love)"? Are "恋(romantic love)" and "愛(love)" the same? Even in an English-Japanese dictionary, "love" has both meanings: love and romantic love. Even in Japanese, when you say "愛(love)," the parts related to "恋(romantic love)" inevitably resonate. If that's the case, then when English-speaking people say "love," the two concepts resonate even more. After all, they're using the same word.
Perhaps they disliked this and invented a new word, something like "agape" in theological terms, rather than "love." But agape is kind of hard to grasp. It sounds theological and difficult. What's with agape? It's love, isn't it? Am I the only one who thinks it has to be love?
In Buddhism,
"Buddha is mercy."
This is fine, but in Christianity,
"God is love."
Just hearing this makes me go, "Wow, that's so wonderful!" When I hear the word "love," the emotional part of my heart, that sweet part of love, resonates, and I go,
💖💖💘
It's like, isn't Christianity so unfair? Between Son and Love, it's just unfair. Having said that, I wrote in a previous post that "Buddha is wooing me," so perhaps I could follow the same path in Buddhism, but in Christianity, I immediately go, "💖💖💖." The effect is quick and immediate.
People like me who fall in love easily are especially vulnerable to the word "love."
"Love, love, love, it's love... (lasts forever)"
Ah, this is like the world of Takarazuka Revue.
I'm completely captivated by love (and therefore captivated by God, because God = Love).
Following the guidance of love and mercy.
