The duality of our existence

When faced with the Palestinian issue and the war in Ukraine, the harsh reality of the situation makes you lose hope.

We were one, and we are still one.

If that were the case, there would be no conflict, but we are one and diverse at the same time. If we remained one, nothing would exist. We create infinite differences from what was one, and it can be said that we exist only through these differences.

"Existence is difference."

Palestinians and Jews are different.

Ukrainians and Russians are different.

Is that really true? I can't tell them apart. I think many Japanese people living far away in the Far East feel this way, but it is also true that many Americans, Europeans, and people outside of Asia think that they can't tell the difference when they hear that

Japanese and Koreans are different

Japanese and Chinese are different

Korean and Chinese are different

There was a genocide in Rwanda during the civil war, but even when they are told that the Tutsis and Hutus are different, Japanese and Westerners can hardly tell the difference.

Humans are desperate to create differences, and these differences become their identity and the basis of their existence. But these differences are not recognized by others as much as we are. And to other living things,

we are all just human.

And once we become aware of the differences, we begin to act as an independent group of living things to expand our range of existence. Since the birth of living things, all living species have been doing the same thing to expand their living area, and as a result, humans have expanded their habitat to almost the entire Earth. However, by creating differences within humans, we also strive to expand the range of influence for each difference. These differences can be ethnic groups, nations, or religious groups.

And when the range of influence of each difference expands and they collide at the border, conflict occurs. In some cases, it becomes a fight for the survival of each difference.

And after the battle...

In the end, only the winners will remain, and there will be only one difference left in the world, and eventually the differences will disappear and we will become one...

But for some reason, this is not the case. Humanity has fought so many wars, but the world remains as diverse as ever.

Isn't there hope in that?

When God created the world, he made everything exist through differences, but that is because of love. In other words, differences exist because of love. That is why God loves and desires diversity.

We are one because of God's love, but we are also diverse because of God's love.

So even if a clash occurs on the boundary of differences, it is unlikely that one will eliminate the other. But that does not mean that differences will remain differences forever. When the two meet, they will influence each other and merge. Then they will become one, and from that, new differences will be born. Becoming one will be the mother of the next new diversity.

If we trace the evolution of living things, many species have become extinct. So, does that mean that only the few species that survived or won in the end remain today? No, that is not the case. On the contrary, life has become increasingly diverse through evolution, leading to the present.

We can become one while retaining our diversity, and we can remain diverse while remaining one.

It reminded me of quantum mechanics again.

"Light has the duality of being both a wave and a particle."

Waves have infinite possibilities, don't they? And a particle means one. Or rather, one identity. Anyway, It resonates with humanity strangely.
