Eating
God would do anything for you.
He would even be willing to give up his life for you.
Buddha would do anything for us.
He would even be willing to give up his life for us.
But you may wonder what he has done for us up until now.
In fact, he has already done so.
In fact, he has even given us his life.
The fact that we are alive now, that is, that we have life, is a tremendous thing.
First of all, in order for us to live, we need to eat.
If you think about it carefully, this is an amazing thing. Something to be grateful for. And it is also frightening.
When we eat, we are eating life.
We are eating the lives of other animals and plants.
Eating life means killing.
We are taking, killing, and eating the precious lives of animals and plants, that is, living things.
When God, Buddha created life in this world, he must have had infinite love and compassion for each and every one of those lives, wishing only for their happiness. I'm sure God would even be willing to sacrifice himself for that life. Even if that life were just a single cell. Just because it's a single cell, we shouldn't take it lightly. Even with all our science and technology, humanity has never created any life. And even after desperately searching the entire universe, we have not found any life, not even a single cell, other than on Earth. It has not been found on Mercury, Venus, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto. It has not been found in other star systems or in countless other galaxies. I'm sure it's out there somewhere, though.
So life itself, even if it's just a single cell, is a great miracle and a blessing.
God created life with all his love, so God is life, isn't he? Buddha is life.
So we kill God and eat God every day.
We kill Buddha and eat Buddha.
Truly, God and Buddha are sacrificing their lives to keep us alive.
So we must live well.
And we must be happy no matter what.
Otherwise, God and Buddha will have died in vain.
The countless lives that have died for us will not rest in peace.
Your life does not belong to you alone.
You have inherited the countless lives that were lost for you, that is, the countless precious lives that you have killed.
How regretful it must have been for the countless lives that were killed and eaten for us.
Don't say that it's okay because they were raised for that purpose.
If you were in the opposite position, you would immediately understand the regret.
What if you, your son, your daughter, were born and kept alive in this world just to be eaten by someone? And then they are killed and eaten before the end of their life.
What a regret.
So we live our lives carrying the countless regrets.
"Oh, I'll stop eating from now on. I'll fast!"
No. It's too late. It's too late.
The many lives that we have killed, taken, and eaten up until now can never be gotten back.
But if we can look forward and live our lives to the future and be happy, then that's okay.
Gods and Buddhas wish for nothing but our happiness.
So it's not too late.
We can get them back.
We can get them back.
